LaSalle Parish schools will officially move to a four-day school week starting in September after the LaSalle Parish School Board unanimously approved the measure at their regular meeting April 3 before a large crowd of interested employees, parents and residents. The only comment prior to voting on the matter came from Ward 7 Member Deborah Mayo, who thanked everyone that participated in a recent survey adding, “results from that survey is what I will use to base my decision.” For several weeks, the school system allowed students, parents, community members and others to participate in a survey to get a picture of whether or not the majority of people in the parish wanted to go to a four-day school week.
