In Louisiana, anyone with the following relationships to an abuser can be eligible for a Protective Order: A Family Member: Spouse for former spouse; Child, stepchild, foster child; Grandchildren, great-grandchildren; Parent, stepparent, foster parent; Grandparents, great-grandparents; The other parent of the abuser’s child; or The other foster parent of the abuser’s foster child.
