“Give me liberty or give me death.” This famous statement by Patrick Henry during our war for independence has always been a part of our history. It cannot be understated how much the odds were against the colonists. After all, the British army was massive and well equipped. Against all odds, and at the expense of many lives we won our independence. Since then, in a relatively short time, we became the greatest country on earth. The freedoms that we enjoy today can be directly attributed to the colonists who fought these battles and others who bravely fought and died for the country they loved. They also wrote the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution that we still live by 250 years later.
