Oilfield Legends and Lore

Oilfield legend and lore run decades deep in LaSalle Parish, and most of the people who remembered and carried forth the stories from the oil patch of yesteryear have long passed taking their accounts with them. There is however one or two of those old oilfield ‘hands’ who can still recall and share the tales of those early beginnings. Garland ‘Garbo’ Bailey, at 85 years, is one of those people, and his stories run as deep as the oil he helped to drill.
