The LaSalle Tiger football team finally was able to buckle up their pads and crash around with another team last week as the Class 3A Buckeye Panthers were welcomed to Tiger Stadium this past Friday night for a controlled scrimmage.
The junior high teams were also a part of this scrimmage starting an hour before varsity kicked off.
The Tiger coaching staff had the opportunity to evaluate the offensive and defensive units before the final dress rehearsal against the Caldwell Spartans set for Friday night, August 25. The Jamboree start time has been pushed back an hour to 7 p.m. due to excessive temperatures. LaSalle Junior High will kick things off this Friday night at 7 p.m. before the varsity will be taking the field around 8 p.m. During the scrimmage against Buckeye, the Tigers were led on offense by Tanner Gagne, Justin Valentine and Jessey Stowe out of the backfield. Tuff Street, Noah Parham and Sean Derr all had catches during the scrimmage. The offensive and defensive lines looked to still be the strength of this Tiger team. As the team gets off the ground, they will get stronger and faster before District 3-1A play starts. Be sure to make plans to come out Friday night for the Jamboree kicking off this season at 7 p.m. If you can’t make it to the games, be sure to tune in to Sandlot Sports Network on Facebook as Jason Peppers and Travis Mitchell will be bringing you all the Tiger Football action. Hope to see you at the games.
