The father of Mrs. K.G. Brooks and Mrs. W.H. Smith, Mr. J.E. Chandler of Jones, Ala., suddenly died at the age of 67 at the Selma (Ala.) Hospital at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Both Mr. and Mrs. Brooks and Mr. and Mrs. Smith and their familied attended funeral services held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at Milton Baptist Church in Jones. Interment was in a Birmingham, Ala., cemetery. A former Jena resident, Mrs. James A. Smith, Jr., of Ferriday, is another surviving daughter of the deceased.
