Everybody Needs a Grandma Bailey

Everybody Needs a Grandma Bailey

My Grandma Bailey was known for her passion for Jesus. She was unapologetically enamored with Him and His kingdom. For our family, she was the anchor, the landmark, the go-to for spiritual and life advice, the prayer voice that we all depended on to pray for us and the standard for God that was never wavering and unfailing. She was a connoisseur of the word of God and studied it up until the day she left us. She would quote scripture to us in a beautifully inflected tone that reminded me of a regal queen addressing her audience! She wrote beautiful poetry about her relationship with God, her church, and her family. I do not exaggerate in my description one bit – she was all of this and more. Some would even call her stubborn and obstinate in her stance for God. She didn’t care, she just carried on in her pursuit of His will.
