Jarred Pugh Seeks Ward 8 Juror Seat

Jarred Pugh has announced that he is a candidate for Police Juror to represent Ward 8, subject to the action of voters at the October 14 election.

In making his announcement, Pugh issued the following statement to the voters of Ward 8: “I’m Jarred Pugh, and I am running for Police Juror of Ward 8. I grew up in White Sulphur Springs, but I’ve also successfully lived and worked in other parishes. I have seen what proper parish government can accomplish. In the ten years since I have returned with my family, I have worked in both the agricultural and oil industries, and seen first-hand how our ward is lacking. This is my home, I love it, and I want my children to love it. I have been an active participant in local food and agricultural systems, and have built relationships with state and local leaders to change regulatory burdens that local producers face when selling direct to consumer. There are opportunities out there for rural communities if we are willing to put forth the effort as a police jury. If we don’t invest in the infrastructure of the ward, how can we expect investment and growth? I would like to work within the current systems to best benefit our ward. However, I believe wholesale change needs to come to how we govern our parish. We need to modernize our system of parish government as a whole, looking to model what other highly successful parishes have accomplished. Leadership starts with accountability. Transparency and accountability are what I would like to bring to the police jury. There should never be any mystery as to where your tax dollars are spent. I have created a Facebook page for community members to contact me directly with questions and concerns.

Thank you for your consideration.”
