LaSalle Drops to 3-2 With Loss

The LaSalle Tigers ran into a buzzsaw in the form of the Delhi Charter defense last Thursday night at Tiger Stadium in Olla. The Tigers were looking to improve to 4-1 but instead took a tough 38-0 loss and dropped to 3-2 on the season.

Delta Charter used a swarming defense to crush the life out of the LaSalle Tiger offense. The Tigers could move the ball between the 30-yardlines, but that was as close as they got to the end zone. The Tigers could not break the Delhi Charter defense.

The Delhi Charter offense was no slouch either. They would wear down the Tiger defense with long time-consuming drives.

The Tigers cannot dwell on this loss as District 3-1A play begins this Friday night. LaSalle will travel to NSU to take on St. Mary’s in the first district game. The Tigers will be back on the practice field and in the film room getting ready to make a run at a district championship.

As the Tiger prepare to enter the district play part of their season, they will have to face some stiff competition. St. Mary’s and Logansport are again the favorites to compete for the district title.

But LaSalle has an opportunity to start district play with a road win against St. Mary’s. LaSalle will be able to move the ball against St Mary’s defense, but once again it will come down to the Tiger defense being able to stop the ground and pound offense of St Mary’s. The Tiger defense will be prepped and ready for this challenge. Let’s pack the stands to cheer on these guys that have worked so hard to make this school and community proud. If you can’t make it to the game, make sure to tune in to Sandlot Sports Network as Jason Peppers will bring all the play-by-play action.

Hope to see you at the games.
