R.D. Clark

Roland “R.D.” Clark, 87, of Jena, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, LA.

He was born June 11, 1936. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. R.D. graduated from Pine Prairie High School, and proudly served in the United States Army at Fort Benning in Georgia. He worked for various telephone companies for over 63 years as a construction supervisor. He was an active member of Belah United Pentecostal Church in Jena. He was an avid gardener and loved hunting, fishing and sports. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Church of Christ, Pine Prairie, LA, with the Bro. Danny Hebert and Bro. Weldon Hebert officiating.

Interment followed in the Clark Cemetery, Turkey Creek, LA, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ethel Clark; three brothers, Donald Clark, Douglas Clark and Dean Clark; three sisters, Lorraine Woodham, Jeanette Maricle and Weeda Mae Murray; and one granddaughter, Mila Griffin.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-four years, Earlene Clark of Jena; three sons, Roland Keith Clark (Kristen) of Pineville, Terry Lane Clark (Lisa) of Jena and Jonathan Brant Clark of Jena; two daughters, Starla Clark of Jena and Allison Jill Griffin (Rob) of Jena; two brothers, Q.A. Clark of McNary and Billy Clark (Sherry) of Pine Prairie; three sisters, Dale Nita Dupre of Pine Prairie, Nelda Atkinson (Larry) of Gonzales and Faye Martin of Pineville; eight grandchildren, Matthew Clark (Kelsey), Andrew Clark (Brittany), Evan Clark, Kingston Griffin, Caspian Griffin, Emily Clark, Alyssa Ringle and Cali Rose Griffin; one great grandchild, Weston Clark; and many other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were Dalton Snoddy, Mike Clark, Brad Murray, Johnny Clark, Danny Maricle and Shelby Dupre.

Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Posey, Jerry Clark and Huey Clark.
