Christy Wilbanks

Christy Denyse Adams Wilbanks, 46, of Jena, left this life surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

She was born September 13, 1977 in Alexandria, LA.

Christy was quiet and soft-spoken by nature except when it came to her family, where she would joke and play with them. Her love for her family and friends ran deep and she expressed this love by planning get-togethers and parties, buying gifts, and making all the cakes for every event. She was gifted in fixing appliances and loved to decorate her home for every holiday, especially Christmas.

She was a natural born nurturer, which was evident in her career choices of childcare and grooming dogs. Her love of children developed at a young age, and it carried over into her adult life when she had a childcare business in her home for 15 plus years. She then started grooming dogs, which she has done with her mother and sister for the past seven years.

Her true loves in her life were her husband of 23 years and their four children. She loved to have adventures, explore, camp, vacation, play games and spend quality time with them.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Temple Baptist Church, with the Revs. Justin Caples and Mike Russell officiating.

Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a niece, Caroline Bradford.

Left to treasure her life, love and memories include her husband, Chad and their children, Cayden, Chaney and fiancé Kaina, Carsey and Conlin; her parents, Kenny and Sandra Adams; sisters, Sandy Smith (Raymond) and Jessie Faulkner; in-laws, Gary and Sharla Wilbanks, Casie Bradford (Slade); nephews, Bryan Faulkner (Sydney) and daughter Laney, Dylan Faulkner and Andrew Smith; nieces, Maci Bradford and Jaylee Faulkner; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers were Joe Harvey Paul, Rodney Phillips, Dustin Keene, Dale Breithaupt, Jason Robertson and Todd Cooper.

Honorary pallbearer was David “Cowboy” Robertson.
