Town & Country Garden Club Notes

The Town & Country Garden Club met at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, in Palmer Hall of Nolley Methodist Church in Jena.

Present were: President Donna Justiss, Nelda Tarver, Lisa Mc-Cann, Sis Welch, Mica King, Judy Baker, Barbara Germany, Audrey Maxwell, Cynthia Bradford, Kelly Thompson, Pam Davis, Glenda Cooper, Beth Zoller, Denise Grissom, Barbara Murphy, Nora Martin, Martha Ann Wood, Jenna Fae Justiss and Jennifer Loe.

President Donna Justiss called the meeting to order and Nelda Tarver gave the club prayer. The minutes were read and a short business meeting was conducted.

Donna was in charge of our program. She had made holiday salt dough bread ornaments. She had a large variety of ornaments to choose from: angels, snowflakes, snowmen and trees. We had to make the decision which one or more we wanted to paint.

She had a small tree decorated with the lovely ornaments she had painted. Each of her ornaments was a little work of art. There were lots of paint colors so a person could let their imagination go free.

Donna guided us on the different techniques to apply the paints. The ornaments can be used as a decoration on the Christmas tree, give as a gift or to attach to a gift. Thank you Donna.

The hostesses for the meeting were Cynthia, Pam and Kelly. We had a covered dish Thanksgiving meal. The food was delicious. Lots of pumpkins were used to decorate the tables and we thank Nelda for the help in decorating.

We are also appreciative for those who always step up to help in so many ways. In this season of Thanksgiving, we have so many blessings. Among those blessings are our friends.

We are looking forward to our next holiday meeting: Christmas.
