Sherman Ford

Sherman Wayne Ford, 55, of Sicily Island, LA, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at The Carpenter House, Shreveport, LA.

Sherman was a very loving, caring and protective husband to his wife Margaret Ford. He loved to hunt with his buddies, going to the camp, going to church and being with family. He loved his job at the Levee Board with all his co-workers – he thought “y’all were the best.”

Services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2023, at New Hope Pentecostal Church, Sicily Island, with Revs. Chris Hamilton and Cecil Grantham officiating.

Interment followed in the Highland Park Cemetery, Sicily Island, under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Byrnes; father-in-law, Ed Mason; and brotherin-law, Rodney Mason.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Margaret Mason Ford; son, Blake Edward Ford; daughter, Samantha Ford Kent (Jeremy); grandchildren, Madelyn Evans, Hazel, Scarlett and Wyatt Kent; father, Kenneth Ford (Libby); mother, Gloria Tolbert; sister, Amanda Allison; brother, Chad Ford (Rosie); mother-in-law, Judy Mason; sister-in-law, Sharon Eubank (Ronnie); brother-in-law, Glen Mason (Shannon); a host of nieces, nephews and very close friends; special friends including Paw Rusty, Maw Jan Roberts, whom he called his “Loves” and Andy Mason whom he called is “Brother.”

Pallbearers were Andy Mason, Brent Brown, Kenny Mason, Sam Mason, Blake Peterson, Jeff Trisler, Caleb Kratzer and Tommie Joe McClure.

Honorary pallbearers were Larry Woods, William Dodson, Preston Creel, Richard McGuffee, Justin Holloway, Eddie Mason, Wesley Brown, Carl Brannon, Ethan Wiley, Chase Wiley and Tony McClure.
