Faith Gemar of Catahoula Parish, celebrated her 100th birthday on December 3 with many family and friends. Among those attending was her 97-year-old sister. Faith says that staying active has kept her going all these years. She has lived in Catahoula Parish her entire life and has raised two children. From them, she has four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Among the grandchildren is Jena resident Johnny Gemar, JHS assistant baseball coach, and his children (Faith’s great-grandchildren) Zoyle, Elijah and Asa.
