Betty Speaks

Betty Lee Speaks, 76, of Georgetown, passed from this life on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at her home in Georgetown.

She was born February 24, 1947 in Alexandria, LA.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved baking, making floral arrangements and spoiling her grandchildren. She was known to many of her loved ones as “BO BO”. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Georgetown UPC, with Revs. T. Michael Crist and Derrick Martin officiating.

Interment followed in the Starks Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Stanley Speaks Sr.; daughter, Cynthia Renee Wilkins; parents, Arthur Daniels and Octavia Albert Daniels.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, William Stanley Speaks Jr. (LaFreda) of Maryville, TN; sister, Wanda Guin (Steve) of Tullos, LA; grandchildren, Kelli Maltempi (Galen), McKali Wilkins (Jacob), Ethan Speaks, Colin Speaks, Kelbi Wilkins and Micah Wilkins; and great Grandchildren, Jesse Maltempi, Mia Maltempi and James Huntress.

Pallbearers were Ethan Speaks, Jimmy Carr, Glen Harold, Galen Maltempi, Myles Page and Cody Roy.

Honorary pallbearers were Shelton Guin.
