James Guillotte
Obituaries
December 27, 2023
James Guillotte

James Howard Guillotte, 92, of Georgetown, was accepted into the arms of our Lord and Savior on Friday, December 15, 2023.

He was born September 15, 1931. He was a proud veteran of the United States, serving as a member of the Infantry 1st Calvary Division, 7th regiment machine gunner, during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. After his service and many years of hard work at Dresser Industries in Pineville, he retired.

In his spare time, he studied the Bible. He used this knowledge to teach Sunday School at Georgetown Baptist Church for many years. He remained active enjoying life until his dying day. He was a storyteller and a videographer.

For years, he took pride in hiding out at Christmas dinner to catch all the festivities on video for his family to treasure the memories. His long, beautiful prayers before every holiday meal will be dearly missed. There was never a time he was not ready and willing to stand and pray.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Georgetown Baptist Church, with Revs. Carl Griffith, Lamar Carpenter and Mark Breland officiating.

Interment followed in the Beulah Cemetery, Winn Parish, under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Hurley; father, Joseph Walter Guillotte; first wife, Macie Johnson Guillotte; sons, Dale Funderburk and Everson Funderburk; sister, Jo Ann Walker; brothers, Walter Guillotte and William Luther Hurley; son-in-law, Leonard Henderson; grandson, Job Funderburk; and great-granddaughter, Carissa Gillis.

He is survived by his second wife, Bobbie Guillotte; son, James Walter Guillotte; daughters, Patricia Henderson and Georgia Parker (Leon); 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Brian Henderson, Todd Fingleton, Daniel Myrick, Jacoby Parker, Leon Parker, Matthew Parker, Trey Parker and Bobby Price.

Honorary pallbearers were the Georgetown Baptist Church Adult Men Sunday School Class, Jack Myrick, David Price and Miles Price.
