Lloyd Montpelier

Lloyd Adrian Montpelier, 70, of Harrisonburg, LA, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, peacefully at his home.

He was born November 17, 1953 in Ferriday, LA.

He lived on Faith and always put God first. Lloyd was a loyal man and adored his family. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. In his younger years, he worked in log woods, carpentry work and in the oilfield. Lloyd’s favorite was working as a deputy and retired after more than 20 years from the Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Department. He was a true prankster and loved making people laugh and smile. Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. To know him was to love him and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Wayside Pentecostal Church in Winnsboro, LA, with Revs. Tyler Stevison and Tommy Cotten Jr. officiating.

Interment followed in the Heard Cemetery, Manifest, LA, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

He was reunited with his parents, Otts Adrian Montpelier and Marie Maples Montpelier.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Daphne Cotten Montpelier of Harrisonburg, LA; children, Jeffery Montpelier (Christy) of Jonesville, LA, Katrina Montpelier of Harrisonburg, LA and Leslie Humphries (Danny) of Jena, LA; sister, Joyce Reeves of Sicily Island, LA; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lionel Montpelier, Justin Montpelier, George Walton Jr., James Womack, Wesley Bomar and Ray Townsend.

Honorary pallbearers were Tony Edwards and Clois Randall.
