LaSalle Tigers Pick Up Another Win

The LaSalle Tigers picked up another win for their season this past week prior to district action beginning. The Tigers defended their home court by defeating Family Community Christian School 49-44 last Tuesday night, January 2. The Tigers moved to 4-9 with the win this season.

FCCS was able to keep the game close with some great shooting down the stretch, but it wouldn’t be enough as LaSalle would make critical free throws to keep the lead.

LaSalle would travel to Calvin to take on the Cougars in another contest in the latter part of last week. The Tigers would keep things close in the first half as they were down by 10 at intermission. Calvin would go on to pull away in the second half to pick up the 70-47 win.

LaSalle will continue to work hard as District 3-1A play begins this week.

The Tigers will open 3-1A play with a trip to St. Mary’s. St. Mary’s is loaded and ready to make another run at a Select Division III State Championship. St. Mary’s returns all players from last year’s quarterfinal team. It will be a tall order for the Tigers to take this win at St. Mary’s, but never count these guys out. LaSalle will show up, and once the game starts, it’s anybody’s win until the final buzzer.

LaSalle will continue 3-1A play as Montgomery will come to Olla on Friday. Montgomery has been playing a tough schedule to get ready for this year’s district play. LaSalle is sitting in a good place, and a win against Montgomery is looming. The Tigers will be ready for Montgomery and ready to defend the home floor. This 3-1A game and all district games will be shown on Sandlot Sports Network. Tiffany Parham will bring all the live action if you can’t make it to the games. Do everything you can to come cheer on these guys as the district championship is still up for grabs. Hope to see you at the games.
