LaSalle Parish residents are encouraged to make preparations today and tomorrow for the arctic blast that is headed to the area.
According to all models, temperatures will be dropping starting today once the rain moves through.

There is a chance of wintery mix on Monday, which could make for a more significant event early next week.
Here is the 6-day forecast by CenLa Weather (their app is available for electronic devices):
Friday, JAN 12: High 68º – Low 28º 60% Precipitation
Saturday, JAN 13: High 56º – Low 28º

The Sheriff also reminded residents that should an ice event occur, please do not travel on the roadways.
The LaSalle Parish School System will monitor the weather and make determinations about any closures closer to when school is set to resume Tuesday, January 16.
