The LaSalle Lady Tigers continued their winning ways with huge wins over Montgomery and Logansport this past week. The Lady Tigers moved to 23-2 overall and 5-2 in District 3-1A.
The Lady Tigers will travel to Northwood- Lena on February 6th to finish up district play. LaSalle can’t win the district title but can possibly move up to the #3 spot in the power ratings. Right now, the Lady Tigers are at #4 in the power rankings for Division IV Non Select girls’ basketball.
On January 30th the Lady Tigers traveled to Montgomery and won in dominating fashion 62-40. Montgomery is a very hard place to win, but LaSalle went to work and smashed Montgomery on their home floor.
Leading the LaSalle offense would be Mattie Parham with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Kenzie Nino and Kele Smith would add 15 and 13 respectively. Leanna Womack would add 6 points and Lana Childress would chip in 4 points to round out this offensive onslaught.
Then on February 2, the Lady Tigers would have to defend their home court against the visiting Logansport Tigers. This game would show how the Lady Tigers can just overwhelm a team offensively.
The Lady Tigers would dominate this matchup from the start to the final horn and post a final score of 77-44. The Lady Tigers would get the redemption they were looking for after dropping a close contest at Logansport a couple of weeks back.
LaSalle would be led by Lana Childress in scoring with 22 points, as Childress would be 6-10 from three-point land. This would be Childress’s best offensive game of her career. Mattie Parham added 21 points and 14 rebounds. Kenzie Nino added 21 points as well. Leanna Womack scored 11 points and Lexi Lassiter added 2 points for this win.
The Lady Tigers will be on the road this coming week to finish our district play at Northwood-Lena and compete against Natchitoches Central in a tune up game for the playoffs.
