If you have a dog, I do not need to tell you how much the price of dog food has gone up lately. Some people are dropping off mans’ best friend in town or near a dumpster or restaurant instead of caring for them. Pet shelters in many places are being overrun with strays and animals that are not wanted. Dogs are not referred to as man’s best friend for no reason. No other animals can easily fill that position. Agencies that promote adoption and animal birth control have had limited success and some have credibility problems.
