GPMS Raises Money for Equipment

Students at Good Pine Middle School participated in an exciting event last Thursday, March 14, as they helped raise around $16,000.00 for much needed school equipment.

Principal Melinda Robinson noted that 146 students at her school joined in donating money to participate in a Mega Fun Day, held in conjunction with MegaDough Fundraising.

The students were allowed to donate an entry fee to participate in an obstacle course style race and then a color run, complete with bubbles, a giant foam machine and more. Parents who attended the event joined the fun and helped by spraying the students with various colors as they went around the course.

The money raised from the event will be used to purchase gym mats and playground equipment for the school. The gym mats will be installed during the summer and the rest of the money will go into the playground equipment fund.

Robinson said that there is still not enough money in the fund to pay for the equipment, but the event will help tremendously in reaching their goal. Once the amount is raised, the playground equipment will be purchased and installed.

For anyone interested in donating for the playground equipment, please contact the school at (318) 992-5665.

The top student sellers for the event last week were Aiden Scott, Drake Richerson, David Mc-Crary, Julia Breeland and Harper Pentecost.
