Lady Giants’ Senior Night Victory

The Jena Lady Giants honored their senior players Tuesday night, March 19, in Jena as they finished up District 2-3A play, giving the Lady Giant seniors a victory on their special night.

The Marksville Lady Tigers came to town in the final district game of the season for the Lady Giants. The Lady Giants held senior night as they honored their three seniors Claire Bailey, Cydney Kate Parker and Hallie Paul. These are the last players that were a part of the state championship team back in 2021. These three players have been a big part of the success of the Lady Giants program for the last four years. The Lady Giants would get a dominating performance from pitcher Kiette Cooper as she would get the complete game victory giving up only two runs on one hit with 14 strikeouts. The Lady Giants would go on to win 6-2 to finish district play with a 2-2 district record. The Lady Giants would participate in the Calvary Baptist Tournament in Shreveport this past weekend. The Lady Giants would end up going 2-1 in the tournament picking up an 11-1 win over Evangel and an 11-6 win over Stanley. They lost to host Calvary Baptist. The Lady Giants are now 14-9 overall on the season. This week, the Lady Giants were at Pineville on Monday, March 25 and on Tuesday, March 26, they were at home against Quitman. On Thursday, March 28, they will be traveling to Franklin Parish.
