Lady Tigers Share District 3-1A Title

Lady Tigers Share District 3-1A Title

The LaSalle Lady Tigers have claimed at least a share of the District 3-1A title with a 17-0 win over Northwood-Lena last week. The Lady Tigers are 3-1 in district play with the lone loss coming to St Mary’s.

Since that first loss the Lady Tigers have only allowed three runs in the next three district games. The district title will come down to a game this week between Logansport and Montgomery. The winner of this game will only have one district loss also. So, LaSalle and the winner of this upcoming game will share the title of district champions.

The Lady Tigers defeated Northwood- Lena 17-0 Tuesday, March 26, thanks in part to a 16run first inning. Lana Childress doubled, scoring one run. Kenzie Nino singled, scoring one run. Rheese Martin homered to centerfield, scoring two runs. Leanna Womack singled, scoring one run. Allie Murphrey drew a walk, scoring one run. Lana Childress singled, scoring two runs. Kenzie Nino drew a walk, scoring one run. Hayleigh Boyd doubled, scoring two runs. Leanna Womack doubled, scoring one run. Klaire Fenoli singled, scoring one run. Lexi Lasiter singled, scoring one run. Kele Smith doubled, scoring two runs. LaSalle added another run in the second inning, when Sayde Beaubouef singled, making the score 17-0.

Rheese Martin started in the circle for LaSalle. The righty allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out nine and walking one.

LaSalle collected 16 hits in the game. Lana Childress, Hayleigh Boyd, Leanna Womack and Klaire Fenoli each collected two hits. Lana Childress led the Lady Tigers with three RBIs in the game. Childress, Lexi Lasiter, Leanna Womack and Klaire Fenoli all stole multiple bases in this game.

The Lady Tigers did not make an error in this contest. Allie Murphrey had the most chances on defense with nine.

LaSalle has climbed the rankings settling in at number 4 in the Division IV Non-Select softball. Now with two weeks left in the regular season the Lady Tigers are looking to make a post season run back to Sulphur, Louisiana, to the Fastpitch 56 State Tournament.

Continue packing the stands and cheering on these girls that have worked so hard to make this school and community proud. Hope to see you at the games.
