Dub Paul

J.W. “Dub” Paul, 71, passed from this life to his eternal home on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at his home.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Sunday, April 27, 2024, at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Jena, LA, with Rev. Mark Breland officiating.

Interment followed in the Nebo Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Tyler Paul, Tanner Paul, Davis Paul, Charlie White, Colin White and Steve Paul.

Honorary pallbearers were Trey Paul, Keegan Roark, Reed Roark, Matt Horton, Will Huffman, Dick Zeagler, Rickey Huffman, David Bradford and Carl Husbands.

He was born November 2, 1952 in Jena, LA to the union of his parents, Judge and Bertha Paul.

Dub was a boat captain for many years. He enjoyed camping and socializing with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and their friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 30 years, Margie Paul; and one brother, Raymond Paul.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Charlie Paul (Heather), Allen Paul (Sommer), Andy Paul and Todd Roark (Alanna); sisters, Hilda Parker, Mattie Zeagler (Dick) and Kaye Huffman (Rickey); sister-in-law, Donna Paul; grandchildren, Tyler Paul, Tanner Paul, Trey Paul, Lilly Paul, Davis Paul, Kaitlyn Phillips (Josh), Keagan Roark, Abbi Grace Edwards and Reed Roark; and a host of nieces and nephews and many close family and friends.
