Billy Foster Sr.
Obituaries
May 15, 2024
Billy Foster Sr.

Billy Wayne Foster, Sr., 84, of Urania, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Urania.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Bro. E.R. Johnson officiating.

Interment followed in the Urania Cemetery in Urania under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla, LA.

Pallbearers were Charles Raspberry, Wesley Raspberry, Holden Raspberry, Josh McBroom, Chuck Woodruff and Allen Street.

Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Raspberry and Mike Bishop.

He was born June 6, 1939 in Urania, LA to the union of his parents, Jewell Helen Neal Foster and Travis Monroe Foster.

Billy loved to fish, hunt, camp, dance and tell jokes. He was a mechanic by trade but he loved to work on vehicles in his free time too. If you were around while he was underneath the hood working, he would have you holding a flashlight so he could see what he was doing. His calloused hands were a reminder of the hard work he had put in. He always said “there’s a time to play and there’s a time to work.” He lived by those words as well. He was a selfless man with a heart of gold that never expected anything in return and he was loved by many people. He always looked at special occasions as just another day but to us it was another memory made. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was truly loved and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jerry Wayne Foster; sisters, Sybil Loraine Cantrell and Willie Mae Foster; and brother, Fred Francis Foster.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Jeff Foster (Sherry), Vicky Lynn Foster, Cecil E. Stapleton, Susan Bynog (Roy), Billy W. Foster Jr., David Foster Sr. (Sara) and Ray Foster; eighteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
