Matthew Windham

Matthew Aaron Windham, 35, of the Belah Community, passed from this life on Monday, May 6, 2024, near his home.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Good Pine in Trout with Bros. Brandon Poole and Travis Glenn officiating.

Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery in the Belah Community under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena, LA.

Pallbearers were Dustin Robertson, Heath Payne, Tim Corley, Riley Sharp, Wesley Sharp and Ashtyn Clark.

He was born on August 5, 1988, in Alexandria, LA. He lived all of his life in the Belah Community, Trout, LA.

Matthew was a Woodland Firefighter with the Louisiana State Forestry Service. He was also an ordained minister and previous pastor of Pisgah Baptist Church. Matthew enjoyed preaching in many LaSalle Parish churches when needed. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Good Pine, Trout, LA.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Louise DeMars Windham, and Clifford W. Sharp Sr.

Those left to cherish his memory and miss him dearly include his loving wife, Tanya Starnes Windham; a daughter, Mattie Anne Windham; a son, Avery James Windham; his parents, Allen and Connie Sharp Windham; a brother, Jesse Windham (Melissa) with daughter Miriam; a sister, Becky Windham Zeagler (Michael) with their children Aaron, Emma, Anna, Ella and Andrew; his beloved grandmother, Mavis Courmier Sharp; his father and mother-in-law, Buddy and Eva Starnes; a sister-in-law, Kimberly Starnes Corley (Tim) with their children Caleb, Cecily, Parker, Abby and Brooke.
