VBS at East Jena BC
East Jena Baptist Church will have VBS from Sunday, June 9 through Thursday, June 13, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. nightly. This year’s theme is Keeper’s of the Kingdom. K to 6th grade students are invited! Temple Baptist Church will have VBS from Sunday, June 23 through Wednesday, June 26, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. nightly. This year’s theme is Mystery Island. All kindergarten to 5th grade students are invited!

Free 3D Design Youth Camps
The Strand Village Project #thrive will offer a free art and technology camp this summer in Jena and Urania. The #thrive Tech Architecture: 3D Design Camp for 6-12th graders will be held June 17-21 and 24-26 in both Jena and Urania. This is a great opportunity for youth to dive into the study of building styles and design using iPad Pros. The Jena camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the LEDD Office (1850B Second Street) in Jena. The Urania camp will be held from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at the Urania Recreation Hall. The #thrive staff for both camps will be instructor Kim Aldrich and site coach Cheryl Otwell. Enrollment is free. Space is limited. Register now at www.agreaterlasalle.com.
Camp Nolley VBS
Nolley Memorial Methodist Church will have “Camp Nolley” VBS on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pre-K to 6th grade students are invited!

Sandy Lake United Pentecostal Church will have VBS from Monday, June 24 through Thursday, June 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. nightly. This year’s theme is Camp Fireflight.
Free Youth Music Camp
The Strand Village Project #thrive will offer a free music camp this summer in Jena. The #thrive Arts Music (Ukulele) Camp for 5-12th graders will be held July 22-26 and 29-31 from 2-5 p.m. in Jena at the LEDD Office (1850B Second Street). This camp is a great opportunity for youth to learn how to play the ukulele. The #thrive staff will be Terra Allen with The Arts Council of Cenla and site coach Jenny M. Parker. Enrollment is free. Jena Church of Christ will have VBS from Monday, June 24 through Wednesday, June 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. nightly. This year’s theme is Flight School. Pre-K to 6th grade students are invited!

Free Youth Theater Camp
The Strand Village Project #thrive will offer a second free youth theater camp this summer in Jena. The #thrive Arts Intermediate Theater Camp for 5-12th graders will be held July 8-12 and 15-19 from 2-5 p.m. at the Jena High School Auditorium. This camp is a great opportunity for youth to go beyond the basics of theater as well as assist with and perform in The Little Mermaid Jr. musical. The performance will be on Friday, July 19 at 6 p.m. at the JHS Auditorium. The #thrive staff will be JHS Drama instructor Tracy Joy and site coach Holly Grant. Enrollment is free. Space is limited.
