The LaSalle Parish School System continues to prove it is one of the best districts in the state as it recently earned the second highest literacy scores for students in kindergarten through third grade. This past school year the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) implemented its first-ever Universal Literacy Screener, which tests students in K-3 at the beginning of the school year and again at the end of the school year to set a baseline that will be used to measure future progress.
