Tigers Fall in Season Opener 36-6

The LaSalle Tigers hosted the Delta Charter Storm for the 2024 season opener this past Friday night at Tiger Stadium in Olla and the Storm would go on to win this game 36-6.

The Tigers would fight until the final buzzer never backing down or giving up, but the youth and inexperience would fall to the Storm’s veteran team.

LaSalle’s offense would be led throughout this contest by Mason Lee, freshman quarterback. Lee would go on to pass for 63 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown pass would come with a 20-yard completion to Caiden Finley. Lee would also rush for an additional 20 yards.

Tuff Street would lead the Tigers in total yards gained on the night with 58 yards.

Tuff Street would also lead all tacklers for the Tigers with nine, followed by Braedan Cummings with five, Cooper Stowe with five and Cutler Ganey with four.

Matthew Thompson would have the only Tiger sack on the night. The Tiger defense would play hard all game, but Delta Charter looked to have the edge on speed throughout the season-opener.

LaSalle will look to bounce back against a very talented Lakeside team out of Sibley, Louisiana. LaSalle has taken a couple of years off from playing Lakeside but has put Lakeside back on the schedule to prepare for the tough District 3-1A schedule.

The Tigers will travel to Sibley on Friday night and kickoff will take place at 7 p.m. If you can’t make the trip, make sure to tune in to Sandlot Sports Network as Jason and Eli Peppers bring all the play-byplay action of the Tigers this season. The guys would love to see those stands full of Tiger fans because they have worked so hard to make this community and school proud. Hope to see you at the games.
