Tigers Win! Tigers Win! Tigers Win!

Homecoming festivities were abuzz last Friday night for the 2024 LaSalle High Homecoming in Olla, but it would be the LaSalle Tigers’ offense that would steal the show.

The Tigers had an offensive explosion scoring seven times on the night. Six of these scores would come on pounding runs while one score came through the air. Block continued to fight as they would work hard to tie the score at the half at 22 apiece. The Tiger defense would stiffen in the second half and only allow one score.

The Tiger offense, led by Wyatt King’s 136 yards on 15 carries and three touchdowns could not be stopped in the second half on their way to the first victory of the season. LaSalle amassed 458 yards of total offense on the night.

Tuff Street would score twice on the ground and then would connect with Alex Richmond from 20-yards out for another score. Aidan Billingsley would add the last score on a 20yard scamper. Billingsley would carry the ball three times for 72 yards.

Cooper Stowe would add 45-yards on two carries before leaving the game with a leg injury. Jessey Stowe would add 53 yards on six carries, while Tuff Street would gain 97 yards on eight carries and two touchdowns. This Tiger offense was clicking on all cylinders this homecoming night.

LaSalle’s defense would give up 22 points in the first half but regroup and only allow one score in the second half. The defense was led by Matthew Thompson’s three tackles for loss and two sacks and Canaan Stowe’s five tackles kept the Bears on their heels the second half. Caiden Finley, Alex Richmond, and Tuff Street would defend the deep passing game of Block. These Tigers were locked in and able to keep the Bears out of the endzone in the fourth quarter.

LaSalle will be on the road this coming week to take on Pickering High School. It will be another long trip, and the game will be a hard fought one by two programs that are in a rebuilding stage. Let’s make the trip to fill the stands to cheer on these guys that are working so hard to make this school and community proud.

If you can’t make the trip, be sure to cheer on the Tigers by tuning in to Sandlot Sports Network as Jason and Eli Peppers bring you all the play-by-play action of the Tigers. Hope to see you at the games.
