Tigers’ Loss Equals No Playoffs

Tigers’ Loss Equals No Playoffs

A 56-28 loss at Montgomery last Friday night had the Tigers sitting on the outside looking in when the LHSAA state football playoff brackets were released Sunday afternoon, November 10.

The Tigers finished the regular season 4-6 overall and 2-3 in District 3-1A play. This record came with a #29 ranking in Division IV Non-Select power points. This means the Tigers are on the outside looking in, because since the Divisions started last sea-son, the playoffs only take the top 28 teams in each division. This stings a little more being the first team out. The Tigers had some midseason success that should have been enough to get them in.

This Montgomery game would be played in pouring rain that wouldn’t quit until after the final horn. The Tigers would use a great ground game to score with Montgomery’s potent offense. However, some Tiger miscues would lead to easy scores for Montgomery. La-Salle would go on to score 28 points but would eventually fall short on their comeback bid.

This will put a wrap on the 2024 La-Salle Tiger Football season. The coaching staff and all the players have nothing to hang their heads about as they exceeded expectations set at the beginning of the season.

The Tigers will miss this senior class Cutler Ganey, Peyton Peppers, Canaan Stowe, Stephen Fowler and Matthew Thompson, but looking for replacements will begin as soon as school starts on Tuesday. The offseason workouts and prepping for next season will kick into high gear in the next few weeks.

I would like to personally thank Jason and Eli Peppers for their dedication to the LaSalle Tiger Football season with coverage on Sandlot Sports Network. Until basketball kicks off, I hope to see you at the games.
