When I was in high school, the rivalry between Jena High and LaSalle High schools was still at a fever pitch level. During those years of the late 1980s, the Jena-LaSalle football game was always the first game of the season, had the biggest crowd of the year for any school and the only reason the game was played was for the money through paid attendance that it brought to the programs.
