Staff Report on February 5, 2025
Jena Dixie Girls Softball Registration Underway

Jeannie Smith, President of the Jena Dixie Girls Softball League, announced last week that registration is currently underway for the 2025 season.

All young ladies in the Jena area are encouraged to participate in the league, which features four different age categories: WeeTee, ages 3-4; Tee Ball, ages 5-6; Coach Pitch, ages 7-8; and Live Arm, ages 9-19.

Williams said that registration for the 2025 season closes on February 23 and all registrations must be done online.

“You can register at www.leagues.bluesombrero.com/jenadixiegirlssoftball and the cost is $75 per player with a $10 discount for each additional player in a family,” she said. “Coaches may also register online and once again, there is always a need for volunteers for umpiring.”

Opening day for the Jena Dixie Girls Softball will be Saturday, April 5, at the complex at the Jena Town Park.

In addition to players, sponsorships are also welcomed.

Team Sponsorships are $300 and includes the business name on the jersey and a sign that will be displayed on the field throughout the season.

A New Sign sponsorship is $150 which allows businesses to advertise their business with their log on a sign that will be displayed on the field throughout the season.

A Sign Renewal sponsorship is only $100, where businesses that have previously had a sign can renew their sponsorship which will also be displayed on the field throughout the season.
