Lady Tigers Record Three Victories

Lady Tigers Record Three Victories

The LaSalle Lady Tigers continued to win games last week improving their record. They would pick up three victories and two of those victories would be in District 3-1A play.

The only non-district game would be a home contest versus Dodson on February 6. The Lady Tigers would win this game by a total of 38 points. The final score would be 58-20 as LaSalle would completely dominate the visiting team.

Mattie Parham would lead all scorers with 16 points. Leanna Womack would be a close second with 12 points. The other Lady Tigers that scored would be as follows: Cammie Estis 4, Lexi Jo Lasiter 7, Harlee Nowlin 4, Jules Beaubouef 2, Jessica Seamans 5 and Leah Steen 4.

The Lady Tigers completely dominated this game from start to finish and it was a great performance on both sides of the ball.

The two district matchups would be against Northwood-Lena at home on February 4 and St. Mary’s on the road February 7.

Northwood-Lena would keep this game close, but LaSalle just proved to be too strong down the stretch. Leanna Womack would lead all scorers with 21 points. Mattie Parham would finish with 15 points and Lana Childress would have 9 points. Leah Steen and Landry Long would be the only other Lady Tigers that scored and they had 2 points each. This was a much-needed district win for La-Salle as they try to keep pace with the state leading Lakeview Gators.

The Lady Tigers have dropped two spots in the Division IV Non-Select power points to #18. There is still a chance for LaSalle to host a playoff game, but they have lots of ground to make up.

The St. Mary’s contest would be on the road and if you have followed LHS basketball very long you know this is a tall task every single time. St. Mary’s at home is just a different level of stress on the Lady Tigers. St. Mary’s not only plays well at home, but they have a definite home court advantage as their fans turn out in droves for the LaSalle game making this a tough place to play.

However, LaSalle would be able to block out all the noise to put on an outstanding offensive and defensive display and go on to win this district contest 55-36. Leanna Womack would lead all scorers with 19 points. Mattie Parham would have 13 points and Lana Childress would chip in 9. Lexi Jo Lasiter would contribute 8 points to the offense. Cammie Estis added 2 points and Leah Steen would tack on 3 points. The Lady Tigers would use a 21-point second quarter to put this game away.

The last week of regular season play will find the Lady Tigers on the road at Logansport February 11 and hosting Montgomery in Olla for senior night on February 13.

As this regular season winds down, let’s pack the stands to cheer on these girls that have poured everything into this season. Keep working hard ladies and I hope to see you at the games.
