LaSalle Tigers Close Out The Year

The LaSalle Tigers fell to the Montgomery Tigers in the regular season finale 76-47, held last Thursday night, February 13, in Olla.

The final score does not indicate the true game as it was close throughout the first three quarters. LaSalle was down by two points at the end of the first quarter and only down by five points at the halftime break.

Late in the third quarter is when things began to unwind for the Tigers. LaSalle was down by four points with two minutes left in the third quarter and the game began to get heated.

The Tigers were playing hard and Montgomery was starting to give some push back. Fouls and technical fouls were being handed out to get some order back in the game.

LaSalle, having a limited bench, could not keep up with the fouls. LaSalle started the fourth quarter with younger players having to play against Montgomery’s more experienced players. The game got completely out of hand for the Tigers, but those younger guys battled until the final horn. This game will end the season for the LaSalle Tigers and they have shown great promise for the future in basketball. The younger guys on the team gained valuable experience this season.

The Tigers’ lone senior, Harley Stroud, was honored before the beginning of this game and he will be missed on the court next season.

One last time this season please join me in congratulating these guys that have worked so hard to make this school and community proud. Until next year, hope to see you at the games.
