Local Olympians Power Up!

The 2025 LaSalle Parish Special Olympics a Huge Success

Nebo Elementary student Gabriel Wells is all smiles during the walking race and is encouraged down the track by JHS student Jacquelyn Brooks and ABA Behavior Line Tech Becca Masters. Carter Duncan from Jonesville Elementary School holds up his metal for winning first place during the 2025 Special Olympics held at Jena High School. Ray Dyess and Aaliyah Gardner stand with their JHS team and hold up a trophy and ribbon for winning second place in the Unified Race, the most popular event of the LaSalle Parish Special Olympics. For the Unified Race, teams are made up of half special education and half regular education students, unifying students to complete the race together. The Unified Race was created by LPSB SPED staff and is now being implemented in Special Olympic events across several districts.
