Giants Defeat Vidalia on Senior Night

The Jena Giants held senior night this past week where they not only recognized their 2025 seniors but sent them home with another district victory.

On Tuesday night, March 25, the Vidalia Vikings came to town for another district matchup. The Giants would honor their six seniors in Calex Campbell, Isaiah Todd, Zoyle Gemar, Jacob Belcher, Cayden Mursch and Brayden Oakes. These seniors have accomplished a lot in their four years with the Giants. They have made the playoffs each year and have made it to the second round in all four years. There would be a ceremony before the game where the seniors would be honored on the field with their families.

The Giants would come into the game with a 2-0 District 2-3A record and would look to stay even with Buckeye atop the district standings. The Giants would get an excellent pitching performance from Calex Campbell who would pick up the complete game victory.

Campbell would give up 1 run on 4 hits and finish with 8 strikeouts in the game.

Zoyle Gemar would lead the Giants at the plate with 3 hits including a double and a triple. Gemar would also have 3 RBIs in the contest as well. Collin Jensen also had 3 RBIs in the game. The Giants would defeat Vidalia 10-1.

The Giants are now 17-7 overall and 3-0 in district play. They are also currently ranked #7 in the Division III Non-Select power rankings.

This week, the Giants will be on the road on Tuesday, April 1, at Marksville. On Saturday, April 5, they will be at Northwood of Shreveport.

Perhaps the biggest game of the year will be held next week as the Giants will have a huge district game at Buckeye on Tuesday, April 8 at 6:00 p.m. Everyone will need to make the trip to Buckeye to cheer on the Giants as they play for a district championship.

If you can’t make it to the game, then you can hear all the action live on 102.7 KJNAFM. If you are not in the listening area, then you can download the MIXLR app and search for KJNAFM or go online at www.kjnafm.mixlr. com.
