Restoration/Beautification Project
Restoration/Beautification Project This iconic 120-year-old Jena home, located at the corner of US 84 and South 4th Street, is nearing the final restoration stage by Patrick and Danielle Willis of Danielle’s Designs. As part of the restoration project, the Town & Country Garden Club donated two Magnolia trees to anchor the corners of the flower bed surrounding the home and the soon to be short-term rental property was officially named the “Magdalynn House” in honor of Magdalynn Drewitt. Mrs. Drewitt and her husband purchased the house in 1955 and for several years lived there while operating the Gingerbread House next door where many of Jena’s youth were cared for. Shown above from left: Danielle and Patrick Willis, Barbara Murphy, Nelda Tarver, Kelly Thompson, Tom Drewitt, Sally Frazier, Marilyn Drewitt, Audrey Maxwell, Cynthia Bradford, Renee Kelly, Lisa McCann, Beth Zoller and Donna Justiss.
