Members of the Jena High School Student Council celebrated Student Council Week recently by performing various service projects at the school.
The theme, according to sponsor Candace Decker, was “Student Council Serves.”
On Tuesday, April 1, the JHS Student Council set up a faculty Easter Egg Hunt where faculty members were able to hunt eggs and win great prizes, like gift cards and candles.
On Wednesday, April 2, council members joined the cafeteria staff after both of the students lunch periods to help clean up the cafeteria.
On Thursday, April 3, the students created thank you cards and gave them to all faculty members of the school to show their appreciation to them for their work and dedication.
On Friday, Easter cards were created by the members and then delivered to a local nursing home for the residents there.
The mission of the JHS Student Council is to “help others,” and it was on full display during the special Student Council Week.
