My name is Gage, and my D.A.R.E. teacher is Deputy Jenny Parker. If I have to describe D.A.R.E., I would say it’s fun and educational because we have learned a lot this year! In this essay you will learn about my opinion on drugs and learn about the DARE decision making model, health effects if you use or plan to use drugs and a help network.
In D.A.R.E. I learned about the D.A.R.E. Decision Making Model which is a way of making safe and responsible decisions using four steps (Define, Assess, Respond, Evaluate). I also learned about health effects. If you drink alcohol, you can lose memory, have slow reflexes, and have poor judgement. If you use tobacco, it is very bad because smoking causes heart disease. Lastly, I will be talking about a help network. A help network is trusted adults that has helped you or influenced you. For example, dad, mom, preacher, teachers, grandparents.
I plan to use my help network because if I need help, I will have people I can reach out to. I also plan on using a D.A.R.E. Decision Making Model because if I need to make tough decisions, I can use it. Lastly, I plan on not doing alcohol or drugs because of the health effects.
So that’s all the information I have about my favorite class, D.A.R.E.! Remember, stay away from drugs and alcohol. I’ll see you later!
