LaSalle Tigers Season Ends in Second Round

The LaSalle Tiger baseball team ended its season with a 5-0 loss at #3 DeQuincy last Wednesday, April 30. The Tigers traveled to DeQuincy to compete in the second round of the LHSAA Division IV Non-Select baseball playoffs.

DeQuincy opened the scoring in the first inning after Nolan Schrader singled, scoring two runs.

Brady Tatum started the game for LaSalle on the hill. The lefty surrendered eight hits and five runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking two. Carson Rainwater stepped on the bump first for DeQuincy. The hurler surrendered six hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking 1.

Kale Murphrey and Brady Tatum were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for LaSalle. LaSalle would eventually fall to De-Quincy 5-0, but nothing to be ashamed of because DeQuincy is one of the top teams in the state and these Tigers did exactly what they have been doing all year, just battling until the end.

LaSalle finished the season with an 1114 record overall and 4-6 record in district play. These guys adjusted to the off-season changes that were made and began to understand the task at hand.

Graduation will get four seniors, but the future looks bright for LaSalle High School baseball.

Until next season, Hope to see you at some games.
