Retirement personnel of the LaSalle Parish School system were honored at a retirement tea last Tuesday afternoon at the Family Life Center at Jena First Baptist Church. A total of 13 retirees were honored, representing a total of 380 years of service in the education field. Receiving plaques for their service were: (left to right) Dowd Douglas, 32 years; Melissa Andrews, 34 years; Stephanie Elliott, 30.5 years; Amy Pardue, 30 years; Laura Thomas, 24.5 years; Deedra Zeagler, 39 years; Bridgette Gaines, 22 years; Melanie Andrews, 28 years; Gale Barbo, 16 years; Rexie Tweedy, 50 years; and Tim Wesson, 35 years. Not shown: Robert Fowler, 14 years and Bobbie Cornett, 25 years.
