Louisiana Snake ID Visits the LaSalle Parish Libraries
The LaSalle Parish Library’s summer programs concluded last week with a visit from Louisiana Snake ID – a Louisiana family passionate about saving snake lives. The show took place on Friday, July 18 with a morning presentation in Jena and afternoon presentation in Olla.
During the program, the Louisiana Snake ID family shared about how to identify the seven venomous snakes found in the boot state, common myths in deciding which snakes are harmful and which are not and the many benefits of saving snakes instead of killing them.
To the end the program, the over 100 people in attendance had the opportunity to hold one of three types of snakes, each unique in look and personality. People of all ages overcame their fear and enjoying petting or holding their slithering new friends.
The LaSalle Parish library is dedicated to providing fun, educational and free learning opportunities for the parish and provides many more events throughout the year.
