In what is being described as an unusual turn of events, the Kitterlin Creek properties in south LaSalle Parish was not sold to the Texas businessman as originally planned.
Instead, a local businessman with deep ties to LaSalle Parish bought the property for an undisclosed amount Thursday, September 18.
Not only is the purchaser well known in the parish and region, but he is also committed to working with the State of Louisiana to once again allow the property open to the public.
State officials confirmed today that they are in negotiations with the new owner that may eventually see the property converted to a State Park and Wildlife Management Area.
A full and detailed story, including the new owner’s identity, will be in next week’s edition of The Jena Times.
