Family gatherings, church services and Christmas songs are what make the Yuletide merry, and my country upbringing is deep seated in these simple traditions. Christmas memories have shaped the table that I set each year, the Christmas carols that I enjoy, and the importance of keeping Jesus’s birth front and center as the reason for the celebratory atmosphere. For me, those memories began as a young child gathering with family.
