A few months ago, with a projected deficit looming in their midst, the LaSalle Parish School Board began reviewing all of their financials to see where cuts could be made to stabilize their economic situation. The review found the system is paying just over $16,000 for electricity and water to the former Jena Elementary School cafeteria building and one of the thoughts was to discontinue their contract for use of the building to save the money.
