A large crowd attended the annual Martin Luther King Day Annual MLK Prayer Breakfast held Monday morning, January 19, at L&A Missionary Baptist Church in Good Pine. With the theme of “Embracing The Mission,” attendees sang, offered prayers and listened to speakers as they reflected on the work of the late civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. Sponsored by the Men of Focus In Action ministry, the men prepared breakfast for all present and led in all aspects of the event. Special guest speaker for the annual Prayer Breakfast was former Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo, who now owns and operates a private consulting business. Others participating in the program included Benny Barnes, Joe Lewis, Ricky Parker and L&A Pastor Chauncey Hardy.
