Lady Tigers Start District With Win

The Lady Tigers are now in district play and every game means just a little bit more as the playoff picture begins to take shape. If their first District 3-1A game is any indication of what’s in store for the next two weeks, it will be an exciting time for Lady Tiger fans.

The game against Grant that was set for January 27 was canceled, sadly due to the freeze, so the girls took advantage of the extra rest and brought a physical and defensive game to Campti this past Friday.

The Lakeview Lady Gators were fresh off a 1-point loss to district rival Montgomery and brought one of their best games to the court. Lakeview is the defending state champion from last year so a win on their home court would set up a great momentum build for the Lady Tigers moving forward!

From tip off it was clear to see that both teams were well versed on each other’s offense and game planned to stop each other from driving to the basket and providing no free points. The first quarter ended in single digits with the Tiger’s keeping a narrow lead.

The game would play out like that throughout the rest of the evening but at the end of the final buzzer, it was the Lady Tigers taking home the victory 25-19!

The Lady Tiger’s leading scorer, Landry Long, provided a crucial 13-points that were vital to the win.

The community’s support is needed this week now more than ever as the ladies face a three-game stretch starting with Northwood-Lena at home on Tuesday, February 3, for their second district game.

Following that, they will face a familiar foe in Dodson as they finally come to Olla for another home game this Thursday, February 5. This game will also be Senior Night for the Lady Tigers and LaSalle’s three seniors, Lexi Jo Lasiter, Harlee Nowlin and Cammie Estis will be honored.

Then the finale of the week will be against longtime rival St. Mary’s at Natchitoches for another district matchup.

Please support these ladies as they continue their playoff push and making the town proud. The Lady Tigers are currently ranked #16 in Div. IV Non Select. Go Lady Tigers!
