Second Longest Serving DA in Louisiana
In January of 1991 local attorney and LaSalle native J. Reed Walters took his first oath of office as the newly elected District Attorney of the 28th Judicial District. He, his wife Marsheela (Jordan), and their two sons Brett and Ronn celebrated his initial victory not foreseeing this would be the first of 36 years of public service as DA and the distinguished honor of being the second longest serving DA in Louisiana history. Unchallenged in his quest for office for re-election since 2008, Reed says serving the people and citizens of LaSalle Parish has been one of the highest honors of his career.
